Disney+Pedro Pascal brings his own Star Wars hero on the big screen.
The Mandalorian star is all set to reprise his role as Dean Jarin (aka ‘Mando’) in the brand new film The Mandalorian and Grogu. The film, which will also see the return of the adorable Jedi Grogu (aka “Baby Yoda”), will pick up the duo after the events of The Mandalorian season 3.
They became a fan favorite Star Wars characters from the premiere of The Mandalorian on Disney+ in 2019 The series follows the titular Mandalorian warrior as he protects Grogu from evil Imperial forces who want to use his power for nefarious purposes.
The series, which ended its third season in 2023, also stars Carl Weathers as Count Karga, Gina Carrano as Cara Dune, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Amy Sedaris pelli’s motto, Kate Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Timothy Olyphant such as Cob Vant and Rosario Dawson like Ahsoka Tano. Mark Hamill even made a brief cameo in season 2 as his iconic Star Wars character Luke Skywalker.
In January 2024 it was announced that the series would get a film spinoff, plot details of which are being kept under wraps.

What will The Mandalorian & Grogu be about?
There is currently no set plot for the film, but season three of the The Mandalorian ended with Pascal’s character officially adopting Grogu so the cute little green boy could become his apprentice.

The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau will lead the big-screen story for The Mandalorian, and he’s rightly pushed to do so. “I loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said in January 2024 Statement. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Who will star in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’?
Pascal will reprise his role as Mando in the film and will likely voice the actor David Acord will return to voice Grogu. Sigourney Weaver will also star in an undisclosed role, while Jeremy Allen White will voice Rota Hutthe son of the scandalous Star Wars villain Jabba the Hutt.
When does filming start?

The Mandalorian and Grogu began shooting in 2024. This December the writer Dave Filoni teased that he’s “very excited” about the project, while also confirming that production has wrapped. “John and I had a great time working on it, as always,” he said Extra. “It was great to see Grogu. He’s become such a star and it’s amazing how that’s evolved, what we can do now with the puppet show compared to Season 1 and where we are today in film.”
When is The Mandalorian & Grogu coming out?
The film is expected to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
