News broke on Jan. 3 that Miller had gave birth to her second baby earlier that month, for the first time with her boyfriend It was Green. Miller also shares older daughter Marlowe with her ex-fiancé Tom Sturridge.
“I spent so much time preparing for the birth (with Marlowe) and I didn’t really think about what would happen when I came home with a baby. At least now I realize what it is,” the actress joked Vogue in the Winter 2024 cover story.
During her first pregnancy, Miller had emergency caesarean section after 27 hours of birth. “It was like a terrible trick of the universe,” she recalls. “I thought, ‘This can’t be what my sister felt like at home in her birthing pool.'” It was so important in my mind that I got it right. And so emblematic of the kind of mother I would be that I didn’t. But in retrospect, I know it was just the demons of new motherhood.
For baby number 2, Miller emphasized that she doesn’t want to “put that pressure on herself.”
