Chalamet, 28, served as a guest picker during ESPN’s broadcast on Saturday, Dec. 7 College game day. He wastes no time in using his looks to crunch football stats.
“I’m going to Jackson State, eight straight,” he joked about the game against Southern. “Eleven all-conference players. It should be a comfortable and easy win for them.”
Chalamet’s knowledge quickly impressed College game day panelists Rhys Davis, Lee Koros, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee.
“Wow,” exclaimed McAfee, 37, proudly patting Chalamet on the shoulder.
Chalamet continued, predicting the scores for Ohio vs. Miami of Ohio, Marshall vs. Louisiana, Iowa State vs. Arizona State, Clemson vs. SMU, Penn State vs. Oregon and Georgia vs. Texas.

While most of Chalamet’s choices were based on the athletes’ stats and skills, he had a specific reason for choosing the University of Texas.
“Listen, I’m going with my dad from the movie (Matthew) McConaughey here,” on Wonka – joked the star. “I’m sorry to everyone here. The longhorns are on the way to victory. Come on Horns.
Chalamet, of course, stars opposite the 55-year-old actor in the 2014 intergalactic film. Interstellar.
McConaughey is a native of Texas and still lives in Austin with his wife. Camila Alvesand their three children. He often goes out to home UT gamesdonned his signature cowboy hat and sunglasses.
Despite his superfan status, McConaughey was recently disheartened when the UT crowd threw bottles at opposing fans.
“The Longhorn Nation and specifically our DKR Student Section, MOC McConaughey is coming to you here,” McConaughey wrote in an October statement shared via X. “First, you guys were electric Saturday night when we hosted Georgia. well done Let’s keep bringing it. Even though our Horns didn’t get the W, you created a measurable home field advantage. But let’s get real about the bottle bombing mistake we had on the field. It’s not cool. Terrible move.”
He added: “Yes that call was BS but we are better than that. Longhorn Nation knows how to show off, show off like no other and keep it classy. So, going forward, let’s clean up this kind of BS and put it behind us for good. We have to keep our hands together for this.”
McConaughey then implored his fellow Longhorns to make future opponents “feel the heat” in a respectful manner.
“Remember, nothing hits OUR field but the Texas fight,” he added. “Until then, Root hard and hang ’em up.”
