Ruben Amorim insists he will “improve the team” despite Manchester United suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats after losing 3-2 at Nottingham Forest.
The defeat was the second in a row for the new United boss, and his first at Old Trafford, after early goals in both halves helped the Forest side win.
Nikola Milenkovic found the back of the net in the first 90 seconds of the match, but Rasmus Hoylund equalized 15 minutes later.
Morgan Gibbs-White then struck less than two minutes into the second half before the in-form Chris Wood became Forest’s all-time Premier League goalscorer when he nodded in a third.
Bruno Fernandes pulled a goal back but, despite late half-chances for the home side, the visitors held on for a first win at United’s home ground in 30 years.

Before the game, Amorim had predicted a storm was coming and on a day when games up and down the football pyramid were affected by Storm Darragh, the United manager’s premonitions came true.
“It’s no surprise because we got in the middle of a lot of games,” Amorim told Sky Sports of the result.
“We already knew that. If you have a little experience in football, you will understand these moments.”
The result comes just three days after United fell to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal and hours after the club’s minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, called the club “mediocre” in an interview published in the United We Stand fanzine.

And while Amorim understands the fans’ frustration after a defeat, he is confident he can turn things around at Old Trafford.
“It’s really disappointing for the fans,” added Amorim.
“It’s really hard to watch these kinds of games after so many times with the disappointment.
“But we’re here to do the job and we’re going to continue in the same way, doing the same things. And we will improve the team.”
Manchester United’s next trip is a trip to Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday before the Manchester derby on Sunday.
