An employee at the Dallas Police Department was fired after accusations that she lied about her college education to get a promotion.

Gina Fowler-Strickland, a police report representative, was fired Thursday after a disciplinary hearing with the police chief. Fox 4 reported.

Police said Strickland was fired for “engaging in undesirable conduct when arrested for a crime of fraudulent, substandard or fictitious degree.”

She failed to show up for a court hearing and a warrant was issued for her arrest in September. However, the order was later rescinded, although it is unclear why.

Court records showed that the district attorney’s office ultimately dismissed the charges in November after Strickland completed a pretrial intervention program.
