Grace O’Malley deals with her and best friend status Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPagliaPlanBri Uncut Podcast on.
“If you know me, you know I really hate to be serious about anything, but sometimes you have to be,” O’Malley, 26, said at the start of a lengthy three-part statement posted via her Instagram story on Friday , December 6. “I’ve been radio silent for months on the status of ‘PlanBri’ and it’s killing me to let you guys loose. The plan was for Bree and I to do a joint statement to end the podcast.
Noting that “everything is so weird and unfamiliar right now,” O’Malley went on to address the tags she and LaPaglia, 25, have been receiving for their podcast Barstool Sports via social media amid Spotify Wrapped’s year-end frenzy , which made her “feel a few things.”
“(I’m) proud of what we’ve built, nostalgic for all these years and frankly heartbroken that this chapter is closed,” she continued. “But we agreed to do a joint statement, so I responded and cried and chose not to repost or say anything until the time was right. On the same day, you may have seen Briana post that she is “working on bringing back some version of PlanBri.” To give you the much needed information you deserve, all I can say is that this is the first I’ve heard of this.
(The last episode of the Friends podcast was uploaded on October 10. Rumors of a split in long-term relationship of the couple started rolling earlier this year, which prompted LaPaglia to speak via Instagram in October in which she denied the existence of any beef. That same month, LaPaglia and his then-boyfriend Zach Bryan made headlines after he publicly announced their separation. LaPaglia claims she was “blindsided” by the message, claiming the former couple agreed to keep the matter private at the time.)
O’Malley went on to detail her “favorite part of this chapter” of her life, explaining that “getting to work with my best friend” is “truly a dream job” for which she is “eternally grateful.”

“This past year I bit my tongue so much I shouldn’t even have one anymore. I was willing to wait out of respect, but things don’t always work out the way you think they will. In fact, they rarely do. I definitely didn’t foresee anything from this end EVER,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever fully get into every aspect of how that happened, but it has to be said that even though it wasn’t a mutual decision, I realize that in the grand scheme of things, it might actually turn out to be the right one.” “
O’Malley ended her statement by sending love to her followers while assuring them that this won’t be the last time they see or hear from her.
“I want you all to know I’m staying at Barstool and as far as weekly chats go, I’ll be right back,” she wrote. “I love and adore you guys. See you soon xoxo.”
Earlier this year, LaPaglia floated the idea of returning to a solo podcast, leading fans to wonder if there was trouble between the best friend duo.
LaPaglia initially shut down the friendship drama during a May episode of the “BFFs” podcast she co-hosts Josh Richards and Dave Portnoy. (Portnoy, 47, since confirmed his departure from the podcast.)
same month she and O’Malley released episode “PlanBri Uncut” that broke the “truth” of what was going on between them.
“Things were changing between the two of us and we weren’t fully communicating how we felt about each other,” O’Malley said at the time. LaPaglia added, “We just didn’t want exactly the same things we’ve always wanted.”
