Officials inside New Jersey say they are taking “seriously” mysterious drone sightings now reported in 10 counties across the state, with the suspected aircraft recently confirmed to have been spotted near the state’s largest reservoir.
The reason for the drones’ presence near Round Valley Reservoir in Hunterdon County, near the Garden State border with Pennsylvaniais unclear, according to NJ.com.
Also unclear are any connections to other drones spotted in the recent onslaught of suspicious activity that has taken the state by storm, the outlet continues.
The drone sighting at the reservoir wasn’t the only recent one in Hunterdon County; another was also spotted near the 911 Center in Flemington.

“There are reports of some drones hovering over people’s homes for hours,” Hunterdon County Commissioner John Lanza noted during a board meeting Tuesday. “Other reports say the drones are often clustered in groups as large as eight.”
“We take these observations seriously,” said Hunterdon County Public Safety Director and OEM Coordinator Brayden Fahey, noting that officials are “working closely with federal authorities to investigate and address any concerns.”

The drones were reportedly first spotted over Morris County, New Jersey, whose border is about two miles north Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster – mid-November, according to Patch.
Fox News Digital previously reported that the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that an “unusual drone” was spotted in the skies of northern and central New Jersey on November 18.
Since then, drones have been regularly spotted throughout the country. They have been seen at night in some areas and are occasionally reported to be traveling in groups, Patch continues.

“We have recently been made aware of large military-style drones flying over parts of New Jersey in recent weeks,” Borough President Vito Fossella wrote in a letter to the FBI and FAA. “It has also come to our attention from concerned residents and within the media that these drones have now been flying over Staten Island in recent days.”
Fossella also called it “strange and quite bizarre” that “who controls these drones, where they come from and their purpose” remains unclear.
