Portugal’s Denmark Preview Preview

Denmark welcomes Portugal to Copenhagen for the first leg of the square final of the Nations Championship on Thursday night.

Winners of the two -foot competition will win the right to face Italy or Germany in the semifinals in June, as Portugal will become the first country to add a second triumph of the championship after the first tournament win in 2019.

Two wins, two draws and two defeats were enough for Denmark to finish the second in the A4 team behind Spain, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Co going unbeaten to the A1 to seal the first place in front of those who like Croatia, Scotland and Poland.

Portugal was hit in penalties from France at Euro 2024, but responded by winning four of the six games in the league, with Roberto Martinez hoping to deliver some silverware with this talented players.

While it has a team full of talent, they are still driven by Ronaldo at the age of 40, scoring five goals at the team stage of this competition to get his overall international match in an impressive 135.

Denmark, meanwhile, is hunting for their first victory under new coach Brian Riemer, who has overseen a 2-1 defeat against European champions of Spain and a miserable tie with Serbia, which was still enough to secure the A4.
