The Rangers have described their “contempt” for a minority of supporters whose actions have led to a UEFA charge.
The European football government has disciplined the Glasgow club, as some Rangers fans lift a banner that read “Keep awakening foreign ideologies outside – defend Europe during Last Thursday, the Europa League clashes with Fenerbahce.
The club published a strongly worded statement in response this morning, which reads: “It is deeply sad and sincerely annoying that the club is now going to face significant sanctions on the actions of a very small minority.

“First, the club was accused by UEFA after a handful of supporters who showed what UEFA describes as a” racist and/or discreet banner “at last Thursday’s IBrox meeting with Fenerbahce.
“Rangers is a modern, progressive football club and we are very proud of our varied teams, our workforce and our support.
“This charge will have consequences for the club, while the club also works to locate those responsible and ensure that it also addresses consequences.
“To avoid doubt, if you do not believe in 2025 that everyone is welcome to follow the Rangers either in the ibrox or away, then Rangers is not the club for you and you will have to disconnect with the club immediately.”
Rangers face further charges
The statement explains that UEFA has also charged the club to throw objects and blocking the corridors in the fener game.
This is an unnecessary distraction for the Rangers after defeating Jose Mourinho’s men in a penalty to reach the Europa League quarter-finals and supported this with an unforgettable 3-2 victory in Glasgow Celtic on Sunday.
The statement concluded: “All of the above behaviors will have consequences for the club, and either directly or indirectly, the Association’s supporters.
“Rangers as a club will remain in parallel with our supporters and support their rights and their ability to support the team in the most passionate ways that are possible within the limits of the law and appropriate regulations.
“However, the Association also calls on all rational supporters to completely reject any behavior that brings the name of the Rangers into mistrust and to help the club by questioning any issues that will lead to the punishment of the club further by the competent authorities.”
