The dinner, formally called the dinner “Masters Club”, is a valued tradition intended to honor earlier winners and dates from the first dinner organized by Ben Hogan, who won the tournament in 1951 and celebrated his victory on the eve of the 1952 tournament.

The tradition has continued for years and is only attended by earlier Green Jacket winners and the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club.

Scheffler, 28, won the Masters for the first time in 2022 – his first big win – and organized a dinner the following year. The menu then contained cheeseburger sliding controllers and fireworks shrimp, and to no one’s surprise, steak.
