
Prince Harry reflects how his mother, Princess Dianawould react to his and his wife Meghan Marklemoved to the United States.
“I love living (in the US) and raising my kids here, it’s a part of my life I never thought I’d live and I feel like it’s the life my mom wanted for me,” the Duke of Sussex, 40, said Andrew Sorokin at New York TimesDealBook Summit in New York on Wednesday, December 4.
Harry and Meghan, 43, moved to America after January 2020. have announced they plan to step back from their roles as senior royals. The couple originally lived in Tyler Perrybefore moving to their home in Montecito. Harry and Meghan who tied the knot in 2018, currently reside in California with their children, son Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibeth, 3.
While opening up about his life across the pond, Harry discussed how he and Meghan have been left without the same level of security they had in the UK (After stepping down from their roles, Harry and Meghan lost their state-funded police protection time of UK visits he still has a pending case against the government that could restore security.)
“I shouldn’t have removed the guard at all,” he said Wednesday. “But the revelation process has been unsettling and enlightening and now I just have to sit and wait until April.”
Harry has now said his “main goal” is to be “the best father and the best husband” he can be. “The reason these things happened is because of my 10 years in the military and the values and principles I live by,” he said. “It’s getting harder and harder for people who have values and principles as the world starts to change. But the thing I want to be known for is that “He stuck to his values and always stayed true to that principle.”

As they navigate life in America, Harry and Meghan have launched a series of initiatives from their Archewell Foundation. Earlier this year, the pair spearheaded The Parents Network, an initiative aimed at supporting families dealing with “online harm”.
“As we see what’s happening online, we know there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re happy to be a part of the change forever,” Meghan told the CBS host Jane Polley in August.
Harry said the program helps parents become “first responders” in their children’s lives. “At this point we’ve reached the stage where almost every parent has to be the first responder,” he said. “And even the best first responders in the world would not be able to recognize the signs of a possible suicide.” That’s the terrifying part of it all.”
After accepting an invitation from the Vice President France Marquez to visit Colombia in August, Harry and Meghan promoted The Parents Network.
“We need to model how we want our children to be raised and for the world we’re raising them in,” Meghan said during a panel while attending the Responsible Digital Future Summit on August 15. “It doesn’t matter where you live . It doesn’t matter who you are. Either you personally or someone you know is a victim of what is happening online. And that’s something we can actively work on every day to fix.”
It’s been a long time Harry mental health advocatehaving previously told of her panic attacks and “severe anxiety”.
“A lot of people say they fit into a certain box, I don’t really,” he said Wednesday. “Therapy has been a blessing for me. I would describe it as cleaning the windshield. What it really did was open my eyes and open my perspective on how I could resolve the inner.”
“There’s no point in being depressed or sad or angry at the press,” he said his legal battle with British tabloids Associated Newspapers Limited, News Group Newspaper and Mirror Group Newspapers. “Because it won’t change anything. This is certainly not what my mother wanted.
