Jordan Pickford says that Jordan Henderson is a “winner and great leader” and is happy to see him back in the England team.
Henderson made the three-lion debut in 2010, but he has not played for his country since November 2023, shortly after a controversial move from Liverpool on the Saudi Arabian side al-Estifaq.
His attitude in the Middle East was short -lived and joined Ajax in January 2024 and impressed with Amsterdmmer.
It was still a surprise choice when Thomas Tuchel named his first English team last week But Pickford, who, like Henderson, came through the classes at Sunderland, believes is a reasonable move.
Henderson’s return is ideal for team – Pickford
Everton’s goalkeeper said: “His desire to want to win and what he has won and succeeds is led by himself.
“He’s a winner and a great leader.
“He was vice -president for many years.
“I think someone like Hendo is great.
“I think it’s a great move to have someone like him in the team.

Experience will help England – Pickford
Henderson participated in the team from defender Dan Burn and Pickford believes they have some older heads around his side as they prepare to open the World Cup qualifying campaign with games at home against Albania and Latvia.
“We’ve knocked on the door for a while now.
“It’s for the next step now.
“We have the first call of Dan Burn that is a great achievement for him.
“To have these leaders around the place, the more leaders you have in the team I think the greatest success they bring.
“They will lead the training standards. They will lead the standards around the position and make it a better camp for everyone.”
