I was overwhelmed, says Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois acknowledged that he was “relieved” after he had the opportunity to explain his boycott in Belgium in front of the team.

Courtois was not available for the Red Devils, after being ignored for the captain by previous boss Domenico Tedesco in June 2023.

This attitude saw him lose the Euro 2024, but he is back in the match now after the departure of Tedesco and the appointment of Rudi Garcia.

And Courtois took advantage of the opportunity to hold clear talks with his teammates.

“When I arrived (at the Training Center), it was good to be able to talk to the players because many false things have been said,” Courtois told reporters on Tuesday.

“A lot of wrong or incomplete information that some players may have read in the press, which was not always accurate.

“And they were also able to ask questions.

“They were probably frustrated that I didn’t help the team achieve a good result in the European Championship.

I made mistakes – Courtois

He added: “Let’s not talk about it anymore.

“I made mistakes.

Explaining these problems, Courtois, who has another excellent season in Madrid, said he felt frustrated by Italian Tedesco.

“I didn’t feel any respect,” he said. “The coach never came to see me.

Courtois part of Garcia’s designs to take back Belgium

Courtois is going to start when Belgium is facing Ukraine in a playoff -Oh relegating the championship for this international break.

And then Belgium will aim to secure qualifications for the World Cup finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer.

Despite the talented team, Belgium has been depreciated in recent tournaments.

They joined the World Cup in 2022 at the team’s stage under Roberto Martinez before Tedesco led them to the last 16 to Euro 2024.
