“My friend, Byron Donalds, is a fearless conservative and Maga Patriot. I worked closely with him in the congress and know from personal experience his fight, tenacity and effectiveness. He will be a big director of our Sunshine State,” Buchanan said in a statement.
Donalds announced his candidacy last month after President Donald Trump had publicly promised his approval as he encouraged the legislator to run.

“Byron Donalds would be a really great and powerful governor for Florida and, if he decides to run, my full and total approval will have. Run, Byron, Ren!” Trump explained in the February post about Truth Social.
Florida Gov. Ron Desantis – which currently serves its second term – may no longer run in the 2026 cycle.
“Revered to receive my first congress approval from a friend and trusted conservative leader: Rep. @Vertbuchanan. VERVER and I fought side by side in the congress for our SW Florida community and the Sunshine State. As a governor I will take the same fight to Tallahassee,” Donald’s explained in a post in X.

Then Brian Kilmeade from Fox News the predecessor of Desantis, the American senator Rick Scott, R-FLA. Asked if he endorses Donalds, the senator replied, and noted that the legislator is his ‘friend’, and that he will do everything he can do to help Donalds, who will live for Donalds, who will win for Donalds, who will win and “a phenomena.”
While he spoke on the “Brian Kilmead show”, Scott noted that he is “happy” “Trump endorsed Donalds.
