Liverpool has been informed that Atletico Madrid has no plans to let Julian Alvarez leave this summer, despite the player’s agent who suggests that the exit remains a possibility.
Fernando Hidalgo, a spokesman for Alvarez, revealed the weekend that the Reds had shown interest in Argentina’s striker last year before the Manchester City to Atletico Madrid.
Alvarez is in a sparkling form this season, scoring 23 goals in 44 appearances, playing a key role in maintaining the Diego Simeone side in the hunt for the La Liga title.
