Dan Burn says he thought his chance to play for England may not come, but now he is aiming for a place in the World Cup.
The 32 -year -old had several week, scoring the initial goal in the Newcastle Championship win in Liverpool before competing in Thomas Tuchel’s first Engladn team.
Just seven years ago Burn was playing in League One, his career has seen spells with Darlington, Yeovil and Wigan before moving to the Premier League.
“I think I’ve been overlooked, but I understood it,” he said.
“When the new manager came, there was a clean plate, but as soon as you passed during so many international breaks, you have spent the time spent, but fortunately my new manager has taken a chance for me.
“Most probably made me very durable.
“I made my debut in the Premier League in the 21st and three years later.
“I have doubts about my career.
Burn said his goal is now to secure his position in Tuchel’s plans for the World Cup campaign and to appear on the biggest football scene.
He added: “I try to make it a camp from the camp in the minute.
“But obviously it is the dream of every child to play in a World Cup or even play for your country, so that I know that I have this opportunity, if I get it, it’s special.”
