Trump accuses great media of ‘illegal’ reporting, voa almost abolishes

President Trump Has spent the last decade against fake news, an expression that is now deeply embedded in our culture.

He has accused the media of ruthless biased against him – which is largely true – and called journalists by name. He has sued the points of sale as ABC News (which paid for him $ 16 million), CBS and the des Moines Register.

He has charged that polico received payments for the negative coverage of him – it turned out that these were routine subscriptions, and also for the New York Times – and then canceled many of the subscriptions.

But in a controversial speech on the Ministry of JusticeTrump went further than ever before. He said the Times, the Washington Post and the big networks were involved in “illegal” reporting.

The president did not specify what was illegal about it. But perhaps there is a short distance between the accusation of Trump and a future persecution?

The DOJ speech attracted heavy coverage. The Times said He “was” his prepared comments to get to lawyers and former prosecutors by name at a location dedicated to impartial justice. He also accused the earlier leadership of the department to destroy him and explained former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. the head of a “crime” family. “

Trump and VOA

Post cited Trump I said that his enemies had launched the one hoax and disinformation operation after the other, violated the law on a colossal scale, continued my family, staff and supporters, my house over, Mar-A-Lago, and doing everything within their power to prevent the president of the United States. ” The newspaper added: “It is rare for a president to visit the Ministry of Justice-who has kept guaranteeing in the Post-Water Time between the White House and the law enforcement agency to ensure that politics does not interfere with research into law enforcement.”

But here is the fascinating part.

The Times and The Post did not report Trump’s “illegal” reporting costs. It didn’t give it as much as a paragraph. Couldn’t squeeze it (I say for the joke, because the space is unlimited in the digital age).

I see two possible explanations for this.

One is that they are so insulted by the accusation of the president, whom they regard as false, that they do not want to give it oxygen and share it with readers. In other words, when the president shoots arrows, it is best to bend them off.

The other is that they fear that there can be a persecution on the road – given the history of Trump of civil lawsuits – and does not want to cross him about this issue. In short, they are intimidated by the president.

But here is the thing: if two of the prominent newspapers of the nation will not defend themselves on accusation of illegality, who is? How can they expect some support if they don’t stand up for themselves, by censing Trump’s comments?

In the meantime, the president took the voice of America and Radiofree Europe everything but finished with an executive order focused on her parent agency – whose special adviser is former Arizona candidate Kari Lake.

Trump ordered 1,300 journalists, managers and other employees who were placed with indefinite leave. His argument is that they are part of the radical links. He is an old critic of VOA and once called it the ‘voice of the Soviet Union’.

Carla Babb, the correspondent of the VOA, placed this: “A silence from VOA will be celebrated by Communists, Autocrats and Ayatollahs whose lies we shed light on.”

The VOA was launched during the Second World War and credited with the successful combating of enemy propaganda for decades. But there is a legitimate debate about who the “enemy” is nowadays, given the friendly relationship of Trump with Trump Vladimir Putin.

Moreover, people were not hudded around their radios as they were in 1942.
