Why is he sure he can “still do business” for West Ham

Michail Antonio is sure he can “still do the business” for West Ham after his scary car accident that left him “near death”.

Antonio’s Ferrari came out of the way to the Epping Forest last December with photos of the crumpled car that was quickly shared on social media.

The 34 -year -old spent three weeks in the hospital with a badly broken leg, but he is unstoppable that he will play again as he continues to work for his recovery.

“I work six days a week,” he told the BBC. “I’m always positive from this situation. It’s a horrible accident and it’s a huge injury.

“It’s the biggest injury I have ever had in my career. But the fact that I am already two to three months ahead of where to be, I know I will play again and I know that once I play the game I will get the sharpness back.

“I was one of the fastest in West Ham. So my body wasn’t the body of a 34 -year -old before I had the accident anyway. I can still be sharp and still do the business.

“People have always questioned me. My spiritual power is something I have always believed and that is just another setback and is not going to stop me. ”

Antonio had a pole in his thigh

Antonio revealed the seriousness of the injury he suffered, adding: “He broke the thigh bone in four different parts.

“I had a key surgery. They put a pole on my thigh with four bolts, so screws and bolts to knit it back together.

“My first surgeon said he didn’t want to put weight on my leg for three months, which is around now and you can see that I am walking.

“We have a second specialist who said I had to start weighting on it, increasing from 10% to 100% within three weeks.

“But I kept my crutches for another two weeks. Overall, they say it will be between six to 12 months before my foot begins to heal properly.”

The fear of not seeing children grow up

Antonio had six children and admitted that the greatest fear he had shortly thereafter was the thought of not seeing them growing up.

“The hardest part is that I was almost not there for my kids,” Antonio said. “It’s just made me happy, positive for life. Because I have another chance in life.

“During this, we kept it away from the kids. The older one saw me, and struggled with it. It is 13, and obviously people showed photos of the car.

“That’s how he went down and saw me in the hospital. But the younger ones never knew how bad the situation was. We avoided somehow let them get to the internet.”
