“With regard to other events that took place last spring, the provisions of the UJB recognized previously imposed disciplinary measures,” the school said in a statement. “The return of suspended students will be checked by Columbia’s University Life Office.”
The penalties come into force at the end of the professional period, the school’s manager said Thursday.

That same month, Minouche Shafik of Columbia University stepped down after months of criticism of her handling of the protests on campus, many of which have been transferred in collisions between anti-Israel demonstrators and the police, and anti-Semitism on campus.
Armstrong issued a letter on Friday in response to the Trump government that has federal subsidies to the school.

“When I accepted the role of interim president in August 2024, I knew that Columbia needed a reset of the previous year and the chaos of camps and protests on our campus,” Armstrong wrote. “The university also had to recognize the damage and repair to our Jewish students, who were the target, harassed and felt unsafe or undesirable on our campus last spring.”
