Trump Witte Huis draws nomination of David Weldon as a CDC director

The White House draws the nomination of Dave Weldon for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director, FOX News Digital has learned. Weldon was expected to have his confirmation hearing on Thursday.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (Help) Committee has announced that it had canceled his hearing in a statement on Thursday morning. However, it confirmed that legislators would still vote on the nominations of Dr. Jay Bhattacharya for National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director and Dr. Marty Makary for Commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration.

“It became clear that the voices were not in the Senate to be confirmed. This would have been a meaningless effort,” a source told Fox News Digital.

Weldon, a doctor and former congressman in Florida, has made statements against vaccines in the past, which was expected to be raised during his hearing. In a 2007 statement, Weldon said that there were “legitimate questions” about possible connections between vaccines and neurological disorders in children, such as autism.

Moreover, during his time he introduced legislation with former Rep. Carolyn Maloney, DN.Y., that Mercury from vaccines would have banned.

This is a developing story, come back for updates.
