Ruben Amorim says everyone in Manchester United are now degraded – including himself – and not just those underlined by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The owner of the Ratcliffe minority took the unusual step of discussing people in a series of interviews this week, stating that some United States players are not “good enough” and “overpayed” and referred to Casemiro, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Højlund and André Onana.
It leaves that Amorim has to face another unwanted problem as he is trying to get the best of a team that is currently losing 14th in the Premier League.
But the Portuguese spoke diplomatically when asked about Ratcliffe’s observations before the Europa League conflict tomorrow with Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.
He said: “Everyone is downgrading, myself and the players. We can always change this, I include myself in this part of the low performance.
“You’re talking about players like Casemiro that have won everything. We know that these players can play much better, that’s the focus. It was honest in it. The focus is to change your mind.
“Many people will say that you are not good enough for the club, but my feeling is that you can change this with results.
“During training I feel that they really want that bad.”

Amorim happy with the support of Ratcliffe
A person supported by Ratcliffe was Amorim himself and is grateful for the support, adding: “It was really good from day one. We are honest with each other. We have simple, clear and honest conversations.
“To give me public support is really good for a coach. From the first day I felt the support of everyone.”
United won a decent 1-1 draw in San Sebastián last week And head to the second leg of their 16 draw against Sociedad as favorites to pass.
The victory of the competition would see that the club would slip into the Champions League and its importance is not lost in Amorim.
“We have a clear plan to deal with the next season,” he said. “We can still get to the Champions League, so you never know. It can change the preparation for the next season.
“We have a plan and we know what to do, in terms of the type of players to enter.
“This Europa League could change things (selling players) to focus on this game.”

Yuro excluded
United should again fly a side that is weakened by injury, although Mason Mount’s return to team education today was a boost.
The Sociedad game comes soon for the Middle Ages of England, while Amorim will also have to face without Leny Yoro, who was injured against Arsenal at the weekend.
He said: “It’s too early for Mason Mount, Leny Yoro is out, Harry Maguire can’t play this, but I hope I have him for Sunday. Manuel Ugarte is in the team.”
