The turnover of the Philadelphia Eagles The defense took place on Tuesday when the name of CJ Gardner-Johnson was linked to trade reports.
The defensive back was traded on the Houston Texans In exchange for offensive Lineman Kenyon Green, according to several reports. The trading package will also send a 2026 Fifth-Round Draft Pick to the ruling Super Bowl Champion Champion Eagles. In addition to Gardner-Johnson, Houston will acquire a future sixth round pick.

The 2024 season marked the second Stint of Gardner-Johnson with the Eagles after he initially played with Philadelphia in 2022. He left after that season and spent the 2023 campaign with the Detroit Lions.
Gardner-Johnson came to the Eagles again last year and signed a three-year-old deal with the team.

He was an important part of the praised defense of the Eagles last year and ended the regular season with six interceptions. Gardner-Johnson also recorded six interceptions with the Eagles two seasons ago.
Despite the chance that he wore another uniform next season, Gardner-Johnson suggested that the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia will continue to have a special place in his heart.
“I love you Philly, we’re forever champion,” he wrote on xPreviously known as Twitter.
The relationship of Gardner-Johnson with the Eagles fan base sometimes seems to be tense. Shortly after his first Stint with the team, he finished at least a few inhabitants of Philadelphia as ‘annoying’.

A restaurant in Florida that is owned by Gardner-Johnson’s motherDel Johnson, then was the target of some fans who took offense of the message displayed on the clothing of the NFL star. The Kings Grill in Rockledge, Florida received a flurry of negative Yelp reviews.
Fans of singer Taylor Swift, who are often called ‘Swifties’, seemed to be responsible for at least the first stream of bad Google reviews and negative Yelp reviews for the Kings Grill. The unfavorable assessments were later deleted and Yelp posted an “unusual activity warning” on the page of the restaurant that “temporarily disabled the placement of content”.

While the Eagles were able to preserve Linebacker Zack Baun, Josh Sweat and Milton Williams reportedly agreed to deal with other NFL teams this week. In the meantime, defensive back Darius Slay and James Bradberry were released.
Philadelphia seemed to tackle his back-up Quarterback role by trading Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth round concept Pick and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
