The Governor of Oregon has signed a proclamation that will make “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day” on 10 March, in an attempt to re -confirm the dedication of its administration to maintain “access to abortion care throughout the state”.
“Here in Oregon we understand it That abortion is healthcare, And providers are appreciated and can continue to provide care without interference and intimidation, “said Governor Tina Kotek in a statement.” To our providers and the patients who live in Oregon or are forced to withdraw to our stands for care, I know that I was left behind. “
Immediately after the November elections, officials said Kotek directed The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to collaborate with OHSU to replace the three-year stock of Mifepriston of the State-a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) more than 20 years ago for use in miscarriage management and to end a pregnancy.
The governor said she will continue to work with providers and the OHA to control and identify ways to reduce federal threats to reproductive care.

“Oregon leads the nation with the strongest protection for access to reproductive health care, including abortion. In these uncertain times I will protect our values,” Kotek wrote in a message about X.
The Senate Republicans of Oregon shared their response to Kotek’s statement and closed the governor for the focus on “abortion provider appreciation” about solving other issues in the state.

In 2023, Kotek signed access to the Reproductive Healthcare Act, House Bill 2002. The bill protects access to reproductive health care and offers state financing to support the work of community organizations and clinical partners to ensure that people in the entire state have a broad access to the reprultative that they have.
The bill also enables minors to undergo a relocation of the sex placement or to obtain an abortion without the permission of their parents.

Justin Hwang, chairman of the Republican Party of Oregon, said earlier: “HB 2002 is what happens when progressive politicians and their extremely-left basis weaken the ideology in the vicinity of common sense.”
“This account represents a new low point for Oregon and an even greater loss for children and parents,” Hwang told Fox News Digital. “Imagine being a father or mother who finds out that their child has made a life -changing decision without any permission or notification.”

“You may have heard the abortion provider – rating day – but we do not celebrate an abortion. We honor a brave former abortion employee who chose to walk away from the industry,” the organization wrote in a post on X.
According to data from Oregon Health Authority, of the 10,075 abortions in Oregon in 2023, 1,661 patients who stay outside the state were, which reflects almost 60% compared to the previous year.
