PCB declares war on the ICC despite the explanation for the absence of Pakistan’s officials from the CT final ceremony

The Pakistani Critical Council (PCB) eventually opened the absence of Pakistani officials from the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand in Dubai.

The PCB is not satisfied with the way things have gone and everything is ready to record a complaint to the Cricket International Council (ICC) on the issue, PTI said. The ICT has given his clarification on the absence of Pakistan’s officials, but the PCB has rejected it.

The Pakistani Council is not satisfied with the clarification, as a member of his Board of Directors were already present on the spot. The issue created a dispute and somewhat overshadowed a successful champion trophy.

No PCB representative in the final CT 2025 ceremony

Initially, PCB president Mohsin Naqvi was expected to be on stage for the final presentation ceremony, but unfortunately he could not travel to Dubai for some reasons. In the absence of Naqvi, PCB CEO Sumair Ahmed was sent as a spokesman for the country.

However, he was not invited to the scene by the ICC that led to a huge dispute. There were four officials who presented the awards and medals to the players and officials of the match, but none of them were from Pakistan.

“The ICC, apparently, said that he was preparing for Mohsin Naqvi to be on stage, so when he did not appear for the final, they changed their plan,” one source claimed.

ICC President Jay Shah handed the trophy to the victorious Captain Rohit Sharma and also gave the medals to the players of the winning team. BCCI president Roger Binny presented white jackets to Indian players and gave the medals to the race officials.

BCCI Devajit Saikia secretary was also on stage with New Zealand CEO, Roger Twose. Specifically, there were two BCCi officials on stage, but Pakistan’s hosts had no representative.

Mohsin Naqvi thanked officials

After completing the tournament, PCB President Mohsin Naqvi thanked all organizations and employees to ensure the smooth behavior of a successful tournament. In a statement, he claimed that Pakistan is proud of hosting this tournament and making it unforgettable for fans.

“Your commitment and collective efforts have ensured the seamless execution of the prestigious tournament. Pakistan has huge pride in hosting Trophy Champions and making the spectacle for cricket fans worldwide,” he said.

The tournament hosted Pakistan with all teams playing their matches in the country except India. BCCI claimed that they did not receive permission from the Indian government to send their team to Pakistan.

As a result, the tournament was hosted in a hybrid model with India playing all their matches in Dubai. Overall, the tournament continued to be successful in terms of Cricket.

Other disputes during the tournament

Although the tournament hosted well from Pakistan and Dubai, there were some conflicts that created the titles. The PCB is unhappy with so many errors on the part of the ICC and asked the ICC for an explanation.

This includes the absence of Pakistan’s name in the live broadcast of India-Bangladesh. The ICC described it as a technical error on their part and ensured that it would not happen again.

Another controversy broke out when the Indian national anthem played during the Australian-England match he played in Lahore. ICC called it a mix-up as the mistake was corrected soon.
