Former International England Stuart Pearce is recovering at the hospital in Canada after being involved in a medical emergency on flight from the United States.
The 62 -year -old was in Las Vegas, watching the Super League conflict between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves when he became ill on the Virgin Atlantic flight.
After being treated on the boat, it became a decision for the plane to urgently land, although Pearce’s colleague Sam Matterface said he was “in great spirits”.
Matterface, mentioned by the game between Nottingham Forest and Manchester City-two by Pearce’s former clubs-Forest 1-0, said: “I spoke to him yesterday (Pearce), is in great spirits.
“It’s not 100%, this is definitely happening, but it is in the right place, they are in the hospital. They deal with it.
“He’s a little frustrated that he is not here today (the territory of the city). He was very frustrated for that.

“He really said to me,” I have so much that I had to cancel. Some great games, both Mumford and the Sons are playing on Wednesday night and I can’t go now. ” He was not happy about it. It is in a good spirit. ”
The applause could be heard by supporters in the game after three minutes – the number of Pearce wearing during his career – while the messages appearing on screens in the stadium they read: “Get well soon stuart”.
Pearce, widely regarded as a fierce and intimidating competitor during his career and nicknamed “Psycho”, appeared 78 times for England.
He was a member of the three Lions team that reached the semifinals both in the 1990 World Cup and the 1996 European Championships and was director of the Men’s National Team for a game in 2012.
