Kelly Stafford said Thursday that she was relieved after the Los Angeles Rams Confirmed with a restructured contract with Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford last week, but for Kelly it was not always smooth sailing in the Stafford household.
During the latest episode of her podcast “The morning after”, “ Kelly was accompanied by her husband to discuss his new contract that his time did not extend with the Rams outside of his original extension, but considerably increased his salary during his last two seasons.

Kelly, who previously discussed the speculation about a potential trade, said she was happy to hear that Stafford would stay with the rams.

“Holy S — I am so happy that we are here,” she said on Thursday.
“He is very good at compartmentalizing everything,” Kelly said about her husband. “I on the other hand, when he says you are thinking about the uncertainty all the time that you go crazy-I went f — ing crazy, I went so crazy.”
After the end of the 2024 season, speculation started to build around the future of Stafford with the Rams. The first reports indicated that the team hesitated to again negotiate the four -year contract extension of $ 160 million that he signed in 2022.

Last Friday, however, the team announced that both parties had agreed to a restructured deal. The details of the deal have yet to be revealed, but head coach Sean McVay clarified that the deal has not added any extra years to the contract, so Stafford will hold the 2026 season in Los Angeles.
“I give him so much credit,” Kelly said about McVay’s transparency with Stafford. “I just felt that he wanted to make sure that everything was good for everyone and I was grateful for that.”
“I know that you only want to play for (McVay). I think the uncertainty has killed me in many ways, but at the end of the day I want what is best for you.”

“This is where we both wanted to be, and I am just happy that he can play for the team and the coach with whom he wants to end his career,” she added.
Stafford passed last season for 3,762 Yards and 20 touchdowns for the Rams, who went 10-7 and won the NFC West before he reached the play-offs division round before he was losing for the final super bowl champions.
In the midst of the contract negotiations, the New York Giants were driven as a potential trading partner.
