Jose Mourinho says that the defeat of Fenerbahce 3-1 at Rangers’ home was “a good result” and his team “was very bad everywhere.
Mourinho has won every major European price, including the Europa League with Manchester United, but he has a job in his hands to raise another season after Rangers gave a famous victory to Constantinople.
But Mourinho says the tie is not over and supports his side to perform much better on Ibrox next week.
“I don’t think it’s fair to say that we are bad defensively because we were very bad everywhere,” Mourinho said.
“Maybe you are laughing, but for me it was a good result because of the way we performed. The result could have been bigger than that.
“Defensively we made incredible, incredible mistakes. They defend a lot with a very low block and then had dangerous meters and we had no pace to follow.

“So, for me, I have to say that we deserved a punishment of this result. If someone wants to ask me if it’s over, no, I don’t think it’s over.”
‘One of the best ever’
Rangers’ intermediate boss Barry Ferguson was full of praise for Mourinho after leaving his side in victory.
He said: “It’s just the half time in the tie, because Fenerbahce has one of the best managers ever.
“I am proud of boys because they have spent a lot of this season. They deserve a lot of credit.
“We have to be ready for next Thursday and, I tell you something. I’ll get them ready.”
