Georgia Senate promotes a few accounts to prohibit the treatment of sex transfer for minors, prisoners

The Senate of Georgia Tolerate two legislative proposals to prohibit most treatment with sexual transmission for minors and prisoners in state prisons, with some Democrats join Republicans in supporting the measures.

The legislators voted on Monday 34-19 for a bill to prohibit the most sex transition treatments, including puberty blockers, for everyone under the age of 18, even for people who are already being treated. In 2023, the State forbade most sex transition operations and hormone replacement therapies for transgender children, unless they were already received treatment.

“You ask (minors) to make changes that will have changes in the rest of their lives,” said Gop Senator Ben Watson, the sponsor of the bill, Monday. “It’s not a fair decision for them. It is not a fair decision for the parents.”

A second bill sponsored by Senate majority Whip Randy Robertson-Die would prohibit the most sex transfer treatment for prisoners in state prisons, became 37-15.
