Republican legislators urge Trump to keep Ukraine Mineral Deal on the table


House Republicans said President Donald Trump Must keep a proposed minerals deal with Ukraine on the table, despite the public Oval Office confrontation with Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zenskyy Friday.

“I hope that Zenskyy will return humbly for the president, and thank the president for being willing to have those business interests (s),” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, to Fox News Digital Tuesday.

He added that it would have been a “really great” way for Ukraine to signal to Russia that America is on its side.

“I hope we go that way,” said Roy about the proposed deal.

The Friday meeting of Trump and vice-president JD Vance with Zenskyy in the White House was demolished after they publicly spar about the attempt to end the Ukraine-Russian war.

An agreement that would give the US access to the critical minerals of Ukraine in exchange for the financial support that the US has given Ukraine since 2022 and future investments in the country were not signed and Zenskyy was asked by Trump to leave early.

Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, said that the deal must still be “absolutely” eligible. He pointed out that the presence of the US in Ukraine “would scare the threat to get attacks we had three years ago. So it’s a win-win.”

“I think everything should be on the table. Right?” the house majority whip tom Emmer, R-minn. “I am very bad that I was encouraged by President Zenskyy’s move to say everything he should have said last week when he was in the Oval Office. And I think that’s good.”

Rep. Ralph Norman, RS.C., it agreed with his Gop colleagues that the deal should not be deleted.

“Donald Trump did the right things,” he said. “What Zenskyy did to respect the president. See how he interrupted the president. Look how he challenged the vice president. It is unheard of.”

Trump will have to “decide what he wants” according to Norman.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Said: “I think President Zenskyy regrets it does not sign and keep his mouth shut.”

Home freedom caucus Chairman Andy Harris, R-MD.Also said that the deal should remain in consideration: “Absolutely.”

“I think it’s a win-win for the Ukrainians,” he added. “I was very disappointed that they didn’t benefit from it.”

In a new development, Zenskyy addressed The controversial meeting again Tuesday and said that Ukraine was “ready to come to the negotiating table”.

He further noticed that the discussion with Trump and Vance “was not going as it should be”, but Zenskyy said, “It’s time to make things right.”

“My team and I are ready to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to get a peace that lasts,” he said in a long statement on social media.
