Immigration and Customs enforcement (ICE) Makes steps to retain illegal immigrants while the Trump government wants to expand its arrest and deportation activities in the United States.
ICE announced the “threatening reopening” of the Delaney Hall facility in Newark, NJ The Agency said it has reached an agreement with the owner of the facility to restore a processing and detention center that is suitable for a maximum of 1,000 beds.
“This detention center is the first to open under the new administration,” said Acting ICE director Caleb Vitello in a statement.

“The location near an international airport streamlines logistics and helps to facilitate the timely processing of individuals in our detention while we pursue President Trump’s mandate to arrest, hold and remove illegal aliens of our communities,” he said.
The agency said the facility will expand the capacity in the northeast and the ability of the agency to manage a “growing” enforcement and disposal operation in the region.
