A Previously deported Guatemalan man, who was also convicted of committing crimes in the US, was arrested in New York during the weekend, said American immigration and customs enforcement on Wednesday.
Yoni Wilfredo Gregorio Ortiz, 44, was arrested on Sunday by Ice Enforcement and Removal staff in New York City in the village of Airmont in Rockland County.
At the time of his arrest, he had an excellent order to drive while he was drunk.

Gregorio Ortiz was first arrested on December 10, 2012 by American border patrols for the illegal coming of the US, according to Ice. He was processed for accelerated removal the next day and was sent back to Guatemala on January 10, 2023.
He came the US illegally again on an unknown date without an inspection by an immigration officer.

During his time back in the US, Gregorio Ortiz was accused of third -degree abuse and convicted for that crime on 1 September 2022 by the Spring Valley Village Court.
He was later convicted by a Rockland County Court of Acting in a way to injure a child and criminal disaster on 3 June 2024.
Gregorio Ortiz is held by ice in the prison of Orange County in Goshen, New York.
