After earlier refer to Wayne Gretzky as the ‘Governor of Canada’, President Donald Trump has named the NHL legend as a ‘free agent’.
Justin Trudeau announced his plan resign as the Canadian prime minister Earlier this year, Trump asked Gretzky to ask if he wanted to be the “governor” of the country after Trump called on Canada to become the “51st state”.
However, Trump said in a Truth Social Post on Wednesday that his ‘friend’ ” somewhat ‘withheld’ is about Canada who remains a separate country, instead of becoming a cherished and beautiful 51st state. “

So, “The Great One” is now on the market.
“Wayne Gretzky is a fantastic man! They call him,” the big one, and he is. He could run for a political office in Canada, and win. Wayne is my friend, and he wants to make me happy, and is therefore somewhat ‘low key’ about Canada a separate country, instead of a separate country, ‘Trump wrote on Wednesday.
“Wayne and Janet, his great wife, Love Canada, and they only have to support Canada, and whatever the Canadian people, and governor Justin Trudeau, Happy. He is the greatest Canadian of all, and I therefore make him a ‘free agent’, because I don’t want anyone in Canada to say something bad about him.
“He supports Canada as it is, as it should, although it is not nearly as good as it could be as part of the largest and most powerful country in the world, the good Ole ‘US!”

While he spoke with reporters in Mar-A-Lago last month, Trump said Gretzky “was not too interested” to become the “Governor” of Canada, but “he would probably have loved the state.”
Gretzky attended a victory party for Trump’s election profit in 2024 after Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris. Gretzky was seen shortly thereafter in a Maga hat and attended Trump’s inauguration.
