Liverpool expanded their lead to the top of the Premier League to 13 points after securing a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle at Anfield on Wednesday.
The goals by Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister gave Arne Slot all three points as the Reds continued their journey to the title.
Newcastle was without Star Striker Alexander Isak, and Sweden’s absence international showed that the Eddie Howe team created very few clear chances in a game that is largely dominated by the hosts.

How the action unfolded
The rain was going under Anfield’s lawn, but the weather did not do little to weaken Liverpool’s spirits.
Just from the offs, the hosts had an early penalty shootout rejected before Szoboszlai found the net for the second consecutive game when his low shot ran beyond Nick Pope in 11 minutes.
Reds’ charge to the title showed no sign of deceleration. Newcastle, who have their own high European ambitions, seemed satisfied with sitting and letting their opponents dominate the ball.
In a rare attack on Magpies, Callum Wilson, on the ISAK, broke the ball when one-in-one with Alisson, but the flag had been brought up.
The England striker then broke another attempt when he might have had much better.
Lost will prove to be expensive. With the reception he oversees from the kiosks, as he served the first Touchline Touchline ban, after sending Everton, Liverpool began to move upwards through the tools. The prospect of expanding a 11 -point lead at the top of England’s top flight a seemingly adequate carrot.
And shortly after the hour, Liverpool doubled their lead when Mac Allister led to the box and exchanged a neat one with Mohamed Salah before Argentina ran home 12 meters out.
There is a breathing room for Liverpool as Alexis Mac Allister doubles the lead 🎯

From there, Liverpool is rarely concerned. Salah went in search of a goal. Backline stroked the ball with a swagger. Niki seemed like inevitable.
Ibrahima Konate had a goal that fell for a foul for the Pope late, while Cody Gakpo went close to a stunning stunt.
Proved to be the last action of the race. Arsenal’s courtesy of the Nottingham Forest deadlock, with ten games to get Liverpool’s hand to the Premier League trophy that always loves tighter.
