Legendary College Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim had a lot of praise and an elevated comparison, for Duke Star Cooper Flagg.
Boeheim, 80, was asked how good flagg is compared to some of the greats of the NBA.
“I think he is almost for me-he (larry) is bird-like, a bit. Besides that he is faster, faster, athletic, it doesn’t shoot either, but his shot is coming,” Boeheim said during a recent appearance on Outkick’s “Not @ me with Dan Dakich. “

In 27 games played, Flagg is an average of 19.5 points per match, while on average he has almost eight rebounds and four assists per game on average.
The 18-year-old resident of Maine is the catalyst for a 24-3 Duke team that is currently in second place in the nation Behind Auburn.
For Boeheim it is clear that Flagg is the best player in the college game.
“People who say that other people are better than he, just know nothing about basketball. I mean, it’s just crazy. I mean, they have to be – I don’t know what they are looking at. Maybe they just try to be opposite or I don’t know, “said Boeheim.

“Cooper Flagg, he is the best all-round player in terms of doing all the things in college basketball that I have seen. I mean, there are better shooters, better rebounders, better passers, but he is a defender.”
There is something else that Boeheim says that Flagg brings to the table, in addition to one of the best all-round players.
“I talked about this (former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski). He has a lead on him. He doesn’t go back from no one and in a good way,” he said.
Boeheim saw many great basketball players during his long coaching career, including Carmelo Anthony, who helped Lead Syracuse To a national championship in 2003.
Boeheim was Syracuse’s head coach from 1976 to 2023 and collected a career record of 1,015-441.

Boeheim led Syracuse to the last four five times and was 10 times the Big East Regular Champion while winning the Big East Tournament five times.
If Boeheim is right, and Flagg appears to have a career such as Larry Bird’s, which team that sets him up will be very happy.
Bird is in the basketball hall of fame. He was a triple MVP and triple NBA champion while making 12 all-star games.
