Arsenal leader Michael Artita refused to admit the defeat to the Premier League title match, despite the fact that Liverpool expanded their lead to 11 points on the weekend.
Gunners suffered a catastrophic 1-0 home defeat at West Ham on Saturday, allowing Liverpool to increase their sovereignty in the northern Londoners with a 2-0 win over Manchester City a day later.
Arteta men have played a game less than the Reds and will look to try to reduce the gap when visiting Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
When asked if Liverpool’s lead is too much to roll in, Arteta replied: “Over my dead body”, while insisting that his side will continue to fight until he is not mathematically possible.
He added: “If not I will go home. Mathematics is possible. You are there, you have to play every game, suddenly three days ago we could close a gap and you are like you are one and a half games. It doesn’t matter, must to keep going.
“The difficulty is higher than three days, but if you are going to win the Premier League, you have to do something special.
“If you are going to win the Premier League with the circumstances we have, you probably need to do something that no one else has done in the Premier League history.”

Arteta: “Very disappointing weekend”
Liverpool’s tie with Aston Villa, a few days earlier, had given Arsenal the opportunity to reduce the gap, but instead, they are now clinging to the title match after their first defeat of the league in 15 games with the courtesy of the goal. by Jarrod Bowen.
Arteta said: “It was a very disappointing weekend.
“So we are extremely consistent in the last three months taking into account everything we have gone through.
“We have created this dynamic and it was that weekend where we should go again, but we got a defeat. In addition, they win (Liverpool).
“When you try to beat this dynamic and we put so much in it with the circumstances we have, it was really difficult to get. The reality is that there are so many games to play and you have to go back to it.”
If the defeat by West Ham was his most frustrating, Arteta said: “I don’t know, it’s not a disappointment.
“It’s a feeling of knowing how much we had put on it. To be where we are, that when you have the opportunity to take another step and then on Wednesday it should be another and then on Sunday another – especially with the Liverpool’s form is in.
“It was difficult to get, especially at home where we are so consistent.”
