The public prosecutor of Brazil must submit costs against ex-president Bolsonaro on the alleged coup plan


The public prosecutor of Brazil filed an indictment against former president on Tuesday Jair Bolsonaro To try a coup to remain in office after his election destruction from 2022.

Officer-General Paulo Gonet claims that Bolsonaro and 33 others participated in the plan to stay in power, despite losing the current one President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Last November the federal police submitted a report of 884 pages with Gonet with details about the schedule. They claim that it systematically meant the distrust of the election system among the population, drawn up a decree to give the plot a veneer of legality, put pressure on top military brass to join the plan and a riot in the capital to to put.

The Supreme Court will analyze the costs and, if accepted, Bolsonaro will end up.

The extreme right -wing leader denies misconduct. “I’m not worried about the accusations, zero,” Bolsonaro told journalists earlier on Tuesday during a visit to the Senate in Brasilia.

“Have you seen the coup happened to you? You didn’t do that. I don’t have that either,” he added.

A lawyer for Bolsonaro did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
