Marcus Rashford has been supported to shine while loan to Aston Villa by Liverpool boss Arne Slot before meeting Villa Parl on Wednesday.
Rashford was impressed on the bench on the weekend as Villa drew with Ipswich and has an impressive record against Liverpool.
England forward scored five goals in Eight Premier League appearances in Liverpool for Manchester United – with only Sergio Agüero (7), Thierry Henry (6) and Jamie Vardy (6) managing more goals against Reds .
Slot says he expects Rashford to find his old form while lending to the villa after impressing with progress during a match before the season against United last August.
He said: “The first time I faced him in real life was the US tour of the pre-season and I was impressed. I was really impressed how fast it is, how it has a nice height and it is comfortable with the ball, so I think it’s a very good player.
“I hope for him will show it to the villa.
“Of course I don’t hope he will do this tomorrow, but I would be quite surprised if a quality player is not going to show it because he is a very good player in my opinion.”
Rashford has been with no target since early December. Liverpool will exceed 10 points at the top of the Premier League with a victory in Villa Park.
