Pep Guardiola says Manchester City has a “chance of one percent” to overthrow the 3-2 deficit against Real Madrid and move on to the last 16 of the Champions League.
The city led 2-1 late to Etihad Stadium last week, but goals by Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham saw European champions hit back to claim an advantage in the second leg of the knockout phase knockout in Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday night.

Even the best version of the city of Guardiola would be struggling to pass, it doesn’t matter the 2024-25 side that has underestimated much of the season.
Guardiola said: “The margin that will win at Bernabéu in this position (3-2 down), everyone knows that if you ask before the game, the percentage to pass, I don’t know, we reach one percent or I don’t know What.
“It will be minimal, but as long as you have a chance. We will try, this is for sure, you know? The opportunity is short because the result was not good-five minutes ago, 2-1, would be different.
“But with 2-3, the chance is smaller, but as long as you have the chance, we’ll get it and see what happens.”
We were miles away – Pep
The city will travel to Spain at least in the back of a morale-reinforcement victory after throwing its Premier League top hopes Newcastle 4-0 on Saturday.
But Guardiola accepts that it was a bad time from their high standards.
“There are many, many games that we didn’t play the level we play, and in the end, we lost it,” Guardiola said.
“And that wasn’t just the three points. It’s how it affects our minds for the next game.
“It happened many times. This season, the reality is that we are miles, miles away.”
