Former State Secretary Condolezza Rice weighed on the worldwide artificial intelligence race, warning the United States must remain the “technological leader” Against the “big competitor” – China.
“The United States is currently the technological leader, and we have to keep it that way. We absolutely have to win this race, so that a democracy wins the race for these boundary technologies, not an authoritarian state – and of course China is the big competitor here,” said Rice Friday on “The story. ”
‘Deregulatory Flavour’: JD Vance explains vision in Paris for the future of AI under Trump
Earlier this week, Vice President JD Vance has the vision of the Trump government for the future of artificial intelligence during the AI Action Summit In Paris.
During his comments, Vance Deregulation, innovations in the private sector, safety and security, as well as global cooperation, emphasized, while the American success in AI growth is being recommended.
“The vice -president is absolutely right that the United States is currently the technological leader, and we have to keep it that way,” said Rice.
Vance’s comments coincide with some recent actions from the Trump administration to continue AI in the United States.
In January, Trump unveiled an AI infrastructure project of $ 500 billion called Stargate, a data center joint venture between investment holding softbank, and technology companies OpenAi and Oracle that Trump called the “largest AI infrastructure project in history.”
The project includes an initial investment of $ 100 billion that is planned to grow up to $ 500 billion on Trump’s term of office, and will build “colossal” data centers in the United States to authorize AI.
Rice argued that there is a “role” for the federal government when it comes to the AI Arms Race.
“The federal government must spend its expenditure in these boundary technologies and universities such as Stanford and MIT and places and places where many of these breakthroughs take place,” she told Fox News -anchor Martha Maccallum.
During Tuesday’s comments, VANCE also insisted on a “deregulating taste” to arise at the conference, while warning against the pitfalls of “excessive regulations” that could hinder a transforming industry. He also promised that the United States would support a Pro-Growth AI policy.
While the former State Secretary “A Pluim” A Pluim “said they” worry “that some of the regulatory impulses in Europe are the technological progress of some of the American private sector truly disturbing. “
Vance also gave a warning to other foreign governments about “sharpening the screws on American technology companies with international footprints”, claiming that the Trump government would not tolerate such restrictions. He warned against working with opponents who “armed AI software to rewrite history, rewrite users and censor speech.”

Rice noted that although the world does not fully know the threats of AI technology, the potential disadvantages are another reason why democracies such as the United States should win the race.
“Do you think a minute that the Chinese who will have crashes? No. They will treat it as they have Covid. They will hide about it. They will lie about it, and so it is even another reason that the United States must be fast and fast and running hard.
Given the ‘existential nature of these transformational technologies’, Rice warned that the innovators behind the development of AI should have both knowledge and wisdom to fully exploit the opportunities that the technology offer.
