Former “Dancing With The Stars” Pro Cheryl Burke Is open about her love life.
During a recent episode of IHeartradios “I Do, Part 2” Podcast, Burke thought about her relationship and separation of actor Matthew Lawrence and the changes she made in her life after her marriage ended.
“I am not dating and I choose that I can’t do it. Don’t find the marriage,” she said when discussing what is for her. “What do you think about just meeting someone? I have something like:” I am perfectly satisfied in this house, with these four walls. I never have to leave. “
When asked if it has been “more than 365 days” since her last date, Burke said: “Oh, sure,” adding that she has “zero interest” to meet someone right now.

The professional dancer later admitted that she is walking around with “blinders on”, and although they “are still thinking (s) boys”, she recognizes that “that doesn’t mean … that they deserve it” her.
Lawrence and Burke dated for the first time for a year, from 2007 to 2008, almost a decade after their split in February 2017. The couple married two years later, in May 2019. After three years of marriage, Burke presented a divorce In February 2022, Burke explained that it was her idea to get married because her unique “goal was to get married.”
“Now, I am another woman, and I’m so so, it’s just so interesting how we put so much pressure, especially women, because we think there is a schedule that we should follow until getting married and having children,” she laid out.
“It’s as if, it’s the conventional way, right? It is what the society expects of you. But it doesn’t have to be in any order or at any time – amen – – or should it ever happen, period?”
In reflection, Burke acknowledged her decision to get married “had nothing to do with the person I married”, but more to do with her lack of love for herself and the search for something external to “fill my cup”.

After her divorce, one of the decisions that Burke took was to be celibate, a decision she chose to share in an August 2024 Instagram -Hel In which she revealed that she had been celibate for three years.

She further explained that she “falls quickly in love”, which “is not a good thing” when it comes to being intimate with someone, sharing that is something she is “through”.
Burke said that after he was intimate with others in the past: “this person and the imagination of this person would” take “completely”, which was not good for her because “nothing was real.”
