Californian woman convicted after they have been found with Bibles that hide heroin


A Californian woman On Friday was sentenced to seven years in prison after being arrested for a weapon attack and found with heroin -filled bibles addressed to prisoners in state prisons.

Lucresia Stone-Rojas, 46, was initially arrested on November 12, 2023, after a license plate reader had identified a stolen Porsche in El Cajon. During a traffic stop, the authorities found a charged 9mm Walther gun and ammunition, the Ministry of Justice said.

Because she has previous Felony convictionsStone-Rojas was federally accused of illegal possession of a gun. She was not loaded for the stolen vehicle.

On December 27, 2023, she was again arrested when federal researchers found packages and envelopes aimed at prisoners in a prison in California.

A search revealed two bibles with 23 grams of heroin, the authorities said.

Drug were hidden in the spine of the Bibles and intended for delivery to two prisons in California.

“Smuggling drugs to our prisons endangers both the prisoners and the correctional staff. It will not be tolerated,” said acting American lawyer Andrew. “Hopefully this case will serve as a warning for anyone who would be willing to abuse the aids of faith and rehabilitation to perpetuate addiction and despair.”
