An American citizen who reportedly had cannabis gummies was held at an airport in Moscow, Russian Media reported.

The 28-year-old American was held at Vnukovo airport on 7 February after a K-9 with the Russian federal customs service, said something in his luggage, said the Russian Tass press office.

He had arrived in Russia via Istanbul.

The US Department of Foreign Affairs told Fox News Digital that it is aware of reports that a citizen is being held and had no further comments.

Vogel’s plane landed safely on Tuesday evening in the US.

Fogel, a history teacher From Pennsylvania a 14-year prison sentence was out after his arrest in August 2021 at a Russian airport because he was in possession of drugs, of which his family and supporters said they were medically prescribed marijuana.

In 2022, WNBA player Brittney Grijnst was released from Russia after spending eight months in the detainment because they contain Vape cartridges with cannabis oils.

She was also held at an airport of Moscow when she returned to the country to play there in a basketball competition.
