Liverpool reportedly asked for a possible transfer agreement for Wolfsburg Konstantinos Koulierakis defender in November.
This is according to a report by Athletic picturewho say Reds seem to be one of the greatest fans of the 21 -year -old at the moment, though other top clubs such as Real Madrid and Milan are also intense.
Koullakis will probably cost about 40m euros if he had to leave Wolfsburg and be interesting to see if Liverpool decides that it is worth investing so much in international Greece.
MerseySide giants currently have Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as compact defense options, But it could soon be time to make a change.
For one thing, Van Dijk is approaching the end of his contractSo it will not necessarily be in Liverpool next season.
If this is the case, then a leading young defender like Kouliourakis could be a nice choice to replace the experienced Dutchman.

Liverpool have already had contacts about Kouliekis, according to the Sport Bild report, so it may have created decent relationships with Wolfsburg before more specific summer negotiations.
Still, one imagines that there will be other clubs trying to sign the young man, so LFC may have to keep other options in the mind.
Priority, however, will surely be to persuade Van Dijk to sign a new contract as soon as possible.
Even if the Netherlands international is no younger, it continued to play at a very high level for LFC this season and will be difficult to replace.
Kulierakas could be a great prospect for the future, but he remains to see how he will play such an important role in such a big club early in his career.
