According to NigulaRodríguez is open to a return to Spain, where he enjoyed a successful four -year spell with Betis from 2020 to 2024, winning Copa del Rey and establishing himself as a key element in the middle section.

Since joining West Ham with free transfer last summer, the 30 -year -old has struggled to consolidate an initial role both under Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter. With just 20 appearances in all competitions, including the 14 starts of the Premier League, his impact was sluggish, causing speculation of a possible exit.

Betis, associated with a move for Rodríguez in JanuaryThey now say they are negotiating a 3m -euro transfer fee to bring him back to Seville.

West Ham’s races this season have exposed the need for mid -level stability and Rodríguez’s possible departure could allow the club to follow new options on the market.

Rodríguez began his career at the River Plate before moving to Club Tijuana and later to Club América, where he won 2018 Apertura and awarded the Liga MX Balón de Oro. His performances in Mexico won a move to Betis, where he was a joke at La Liga.

A return to Spain could offer Argentina the opportunity to regain its best form in Argentina in the World Cup, and also helping West Ham to restructure the middle section for the next season.

With Hammers sitting 15th in the Premier League, a rebuilding of the team is imminent and Rodríguez’s exit could release space for aid.

Lucas Paqueta is another player who has been connected to an exit, with reports in December claiming that the Brazilian wants to leave the club.

He ended up staying in January with his future being reviewed in the summer transport window.
