Abdoulaye Doucoure opened for his troubled time under Frank Lampard in Everton, revealing that their relationship got a sharp recession, leading to his exclusion from the first team.
Lampard took over Everton in January 2022, guiding the club in the survival of the Premier League dramatically with a critical 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace, a match where Doucoure was in the original composition.
However, despite an initially positive relationship, things soon ran between the middle and its director.
Reflecting his Lampard experience, Doucoure shared his frustrations for lack of communication.
He said: “He did not speak, there was no communication between me and him,” he said in the analysis of the coating. “I was trained with Under-21, because I was excluded from the team, pushed me.
“After a game at home, we had a big argument between me and him. I was not happy and I told him the truth because I was honest and he didn’t like it. On the day they said you couldn’t stay with the team, he felt frustrated by me In front of other players and said you need to train with the under 21 years of age or train on your own.
“He violated me – Everton was a great lesson and learned from it!” 😬

“I said,” I will train on my own “because I know how to take care of myself. Fortunately it was not long, two or three days, because I think it was fired a week later.
During the term of Lampard, which lasted 44 matches, Doucoure was rarely given an original role. On the contrary, under directors such as Carlo Ancelotti, Sean Dyche, and now David Moyes, he was a key player.
“Frank Lampard is the only manager who didn’t trust me much. I think he was wrong with me to be honest. I am a hard worker and a humble man, I work hard on education. Obviously, he can make a choice, I never question the choice a manager makes.
“Sometimes you have to be righteous and I don’t think he was fair with me, leaving with the bench for so many games and didn’t give me my chance. He just bothered me with him. I was just waiting for my chance and didn’t trust me and I think that He was wrong because I proved him wrong after that.
“It was very difficult because I love Everton. And because of my relationship with him I pushed away. I was almost out of the club. So it was very sad for me. Because when you start exploring your choices, go to another club – never I wanted this.
Ever since he left Everton, Lampard has taken over as director of Coventry City and has seen improvements in the team’s results. Doucoure believes that his former director has taken important lessons since his time at Goodison Park.
“He was a great player, he was a fantastic player, everyone knows it. But as a manager, Everton was a great lesson for him, and I think he learned from it.”
