Christine Cheesman is a home school mother, an art teacher and a new art skater. Despite all those roles, she has decided to hire another: Skates of Hope founder.

Cheesman, who lives in North Carolina, was on an ice rink when she heard what happened to 5342 of the American Airlines when it collided in the evening hours of January 29 with a helicopter of the US Army Washington, DC, The killing of all 67 on board when the two aircraft in the Potomac River fell.

Skates of Hope Gifts Skates in honor of those lost on flight 5342. Cheesman uses Instagram to help her take the donations before sending them to Skaters in need.

“The skaters who receive the skates are just so grateful,” she said, adding that coaches reach her to bless athletes who have fallen at difficult times by motivating them with a free pair of skates.

Cheesman’s goal is to make Skates of Hope a non -profit organization, and any monetary donations that come in could go to the families who have lost lovers during the DC plane crash.
