US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is considering a bid to lead Democrats on the House Oversight Committee as younger members of the party try to oust aging committee leaders.
The New York Democrat may want Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., will be replaced if he vacates his seat to replace Rep. Jerry Nadler, DY, for the top Democratic spot on the House Judiciary Committee, Politico reported.
Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., who ran against Raskin for the job in the last Congress, announced his bid for the supervisor role on Tuesday.

The battle for Raskin’s seat could be one of many in which aging continues House Democrats are confronted with challenges from junior colleagues.
“I will make a decision soon,” Ocasio-Cortez said, according to Axios.
