Kollar-Kotelly had previously said in a temporary limiting order on Thursday that Treasury officials “will not give access to a payment record or payment system of archives that are kept within the (Treasury) Bureau or Fiscal Service,” A program that treats an estimated 90% by federal payments.

Thursday’s order came a day after the Ministry of Justice agreed in a proposed judicial order to limit access to sensitive data to only two special government employees who have only reading permission. Kollar-Kotelly approved the motion on Thursday in a short order.
The case in the Thursday order was established by various trade unions of the government who complained about who had access to the material as part of a government -wide evaluation of programs and systems under the leadership of Doge. It argued that Bessent did incorrect access.

Under that order, only Krause and Marko Elez – an engineer and former employee of Musk Company – received continuous access to Treasury’s tax service, but that changed with Saturday’s order.
Krause and Elez were both mentioned as special government employees at the Ministry of Finance, but Elez has since resigned.
