He started his professional football career in Philly as a back -up. Even when he got the chance to become an NFL starter, many still wondered if Hurts had the tools to be a star. Hurts put all those doubts on Sunday when he was called the Super Bowl MVP after he led the Eagles to victory.

Although Hurts was not asked to do too much on a dominant defensive night for Philadelphia, he came to almost every occasion when he was needed because the calmness he shown throughout his career was clear in the largest stage of football.

He ended the game with 221 passing yards and two touchdowns. He was also credited with a hasty touchdown during the 40-22 victory over the Chiefs who faltered a super bowl loss two years ago against Kansas City.
Nevertheless, some critics asked in the seasons since that loss of Super Bowl still stopped whether Hurts stopped the Eagles attack.

Apart from an early interception against the Chiefs – his first in week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys – Hurts was almost flawless against the defense of the Chiefs.
Just after the clock hit zero, pain reflected on his personal journey.
“God is good. It is larger than all the highlights and the lows. I think personally … I myself have just been able to use every experience and learn from it … the good, the bad, everything … using it as a fuel to pursue my own greatness. I couldn’t do any of these things without the boys around me.
Hurts is now only the fourth Quarterback ever losing his first Super Bowl start and later wins a starter, member of Hall of Famers John Elway, Bob Griese and Len Dawson.

The Eagles won the very first Vince Lombardi trophy of the franchise when the team beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl Lii.
