Belgium’s Thomas Detry claimed with emphasis on the first victory of his PGA Tour career with a triumph of seven shots at the WM Phoenix Open.
Finishing the tournament on the 24th of the exchange rate, Detry is the first Belgian to win on the tour.
The American twin Michael Kim and Daniel Berger also shot the final round 67 to finish the second in 17-down.
The only time Detry appeared under slight pressure was when Berger put the fifth bird in the 15th to reduce the lead in just two shots.
But Detry underlined his confidence by following Berger for his own Birdie before the competition was efficiently installed when a stunning approach to Par-Three 16th created a Birdie Tap-in. In fact, the youngest winner of the PGA Tour Bird threw the last three holes in the tournament.
A noisy Detry celebrated in the 18th green with two children and his wife, Sarah, before being impregnated by champagne by an anticipated Matt Wallace, who ended his week in six under a thin four -sided final.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout (66) and Jordan Spieth (68) finished a further shot at 16-year.
Justin Thomas entered 102 meters for Eagle in the latter – a shot that pushed him into a draw for the sixth with his colleague Will Chandler and Robert Macintyre of Scotland.
The world no. 1 Scottie Scheffler had started the day eight back to Detry and threatened to briefly make a run in his first title of the year as he went four under the first six holes.
But Birdies dried up for the Masters champion then, and, once at the rear nine, his round was not tax-free as Bogeys on 12, 13 and 16th followed by a double bogey in the last Par-Four.
Scheffler shot five for nine backs, which threw him back to one for the round and a draw for 25th place – his first finish outside the top 20 from the US Open last June.

Scheffler also found water on the 15th 15th after his second shot was connected, though at least he was mixed after a penalty to save the exchange rate up and down.
